The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern takes you to a magical dream like world and transports you to a circus unlike anything you have ever experienced. The black-and-white tents laid out without warning will make anyone excited for its unexpected arrival. On the outside this may seem like just a circus, but it's so much more. Chosen at a young age against their will, two magicians Marco and Celia have been bound together to compete in a competition where there can only be one winner. As years of training and preparation passes, Marco helps pick an Illusionist for one of the attractions at the new circus, Celia jumps at the opportunity of being chosen to work at the new circus, she always wanted to escape from her troubled life and this was just the place. The circus is mysterious, but something about the place drives people to keep wanting to return. After years of adding additions and making changes, the circus is the best it's ever been. Suddenly in an instant everything changes, "In the tallest tent, one of the acrobats loses her perfect balance, falling some distance..In the courtyard, the bonfire sputters and sparks in a sudden cloud of black smoke, causing those patrons closest to it to jump back, coughing"(373). The circus beings to crumble and the worst of all is the competition is in full force. Marco and Celia fall headfirst in love and nothing can change the events that happen after that. The circus is a place of dreams, but how long can Marco and Celia keep everything in place?
